Attempting to start SAS® Analytics Platform or to run the AP Server Advanced Configuration wizard might result in one or more of the following messages:
The problem occurs because the SAS Administrator password is not properly propagated to two configuration files, and the RMI Server port number is not propagated to one configuration file. The following two files are not processed completely by the SAS Configuration Wizard:
[SAS_Install_Root]\SASAPCore\conf\server.config
[SAS_Install_Root]\SASAPCore\apps\EnterpriseMiner\conf\server.config
Both files require manual editing after you run the SAS Configuration Wizard to ensure the configuration for SAS Analytics Platform and SAS® Enterprise Miner™ Java Client 5.3 are complete.
To correct the problem after the Configuration Wizard runs, open the above two files for editing using a plain text editor such as Microsoft Notepad.
In the first file, replace the variable name ${OMAAPW} with the encoded version of the SAS Administrator's password, and the variable ${SERVICES_RMI_PORT} with the port number for RMI Services, typically 5099.
For example, the following two lines:
omr_password=${OMAAPW}
rmi_port=${SERVICES_RMI_PORT}
should be rewritten as:
omr_password={sas001}UGFzc3dvcmQx
rmi_port=5099
where {sas001}UGFzc3dvcmQx is the encoded version of the SAS Administrator's password.
In the second file, replace the variable name ${OMAAPW} with the encoded version of the SAS Administrator's password. For example, the following line:
omr_password=${OMAAPW}
should be rewritten as:
omr_password={sas001}UGFzc3dvcmQx
where {sas001}UGFzc3dvcmQx is the encoded version of the SAS Administrator's password.
To determine the encoded password for the SAS Administrator, open a SAS Session in Display Manager mode by selecting Start ► Program ► SAS ► SAS 9.2. Type the following code within the Program Editor portion:
proc pwencode in='Password1';
run;
where Password1 represents the actual password you wish to encode. Submit the step by selecting the menu items Run ► Submit. The SAS Log will display the encoded password. The encoded value begins with {sas001} and ends at the last non-blank character in the string.
